Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 1–2+ years of professional experience in Human Resources, HR Operations, Benefits Administration, or a related area.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate employee data and records.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and employee requests.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a service-oriented approach.
  • Comfortable working with HR systems, data, and technology; experience with an HRIS or payroll platform preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Benefits Administration: administer medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA/HSA, retirement plans, wellness programs, and voluntary benefits.
  • Process new hires, transfers, promotions, status changes, terminations, and onboarding/offboarding tasks.
  • Maintain accurate employee information in HRIS and personnel files; respond to inquiries and validate data.
  • Prepare employment verification letters and standard HR correspondence; assist with HR reporting and audits.
  • Support projects and process improvements, including AI-enabled tools adoption for HR processes.

Reporting to the Managing Director, HR Operations, this role will support the day-to-day administration of Cresset’s employee benefits programs and broader HR operations, helping ensure employees receive a seamless and responsive HR experience.The Associate will be responsible for benefits administration, employee data and HRIS maintenance, onboarding and offboarding, employee inquiries, reporting, and other core HR processes. This individual will also have the opportunity to contribute to HR projects and process improvements, including the development and adoption of AI-enabled tools and resources.This is an ideal opportunity for an early-career HR professional who is highly organized, detail-oriented, service-minded, and interested in building broad HR experience.Key ResponsibilitiesBenefits AdministrationAdminister employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, flexible spending accounts (FSA), health savings accounts (HSA), retirement plans, wellness programs, and voluntary benefits.Process new hire benefit enrollments, qualifying life events, annual open enrollment changes, and benefit terminations.Audit benefit eligibility and enrollment data to ensure accuracy across HRIS, payroll, and benefit carrier systems.Partner with benefit vendors and brokers to resolve enrollment discrepancies, employee questions, and other benefit-related issues.Process and reconcile benefit invoices to support accurate and timely premium payments.Serve as a resource to employees by answering benefit questions and helping employees understand available programs and enrollment options.Support annual Open Enrollment activities, including employee communications, enrollment tracking, and follow-up.Assist with wellness initiatives and other programs designed to support employee engagement and well-being.HR OperationsMaintain accurate and up-to-date employee information within the HRIS and personnel files.Process employee transactions, including new hires, transfers, promotions, status changes, and terminations.Support employee onboarding and offboarding, including preparing documentation and coordinating equipment and system access with appropriate internal teams.Monitor HR inboxes, respond to employee inquiries, and route requests to the appropriate HR team members when needed.Prepare employment verification letters, employee documentation, and other standard HR correspondence.Support HR reporting, audits, data validation, and other compliance-related activities.Serve as a backup for payroll processing to support business continuity.Projects & Process ImprovementParticipate in HR projects and process improvement initiatives designed to enhance the employee experience and improve team efficiency.Support the development of GPTs, AI-enabled tools, and other resources for HR team members, employees, and managers.Identify and recommend opportunities to streamline or automate HR administrative processes.Assist with employee engagement initiatives, HR events, and other team programs.Perform additional HR administrative responsibilities and special projects as needed.QualificationsBachelor’s degree required.1–2+ years of professional experience in Human Resources, HR Operations, Benefits Administration, or a related area.Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate employee data and records.Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and employee requests.Strong written and verbal communication skills with a service-oriented approach.Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information with discretion.Comfortable working with HR systems, data, and technology; experience with an HRIS or payroll platform preferred.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.Curiosity and enthusiasm for using AI and emerging technologies to improve HR processes and the employee experience.Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.What We Offer:At Cresset, we focus on people first.
