Job summary

IEEE is seeking an Associate Historian to research and develop historical content for special projects at the History and Heritage team. The role supports outreach to IEEE audiences and collaborates with the CEE Content Transformation team and other IEEE units.

Based at the IEEE Operations Center in Piscataway, NJ, this temporary position through December 31, 2027 focuses on advancing IEEE history programs and public engagement while coordinating with historians and volunteers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• Master’s or advanced degree in history, education, public history/museology, archival science, or related field required.
• Ph.D. in history or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently researching and developing historical content for special projects to support IEEE outreach.
• Assist History & Heritage and CEE staff in engaging public and IEEE audiences.
• Cultivate relationships within IEEE and the broader historical community to advance programs.
