Job summary

Inotiv is seeking an Associate Histology Technician to join our Maryland Heights laboratory. The role involves identifying anatomical landmarks for wet tissue, performing tissue trimming, and recording gross observations to support compliant study documentation.

Qualified candidates will maintain organized study data files, operate tissue processing equipment, and perform preventive maintenance. Strong organizational skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office are preferred, with emphasis on

Qualifications

  • College diploma or equivalent science-level coursework; lab experience preferred.
  • Experience with tissue handling and safety protocols.
  • Ability to document data accurately and comply with SOPs.

Responsibilities

  • Identify anatomical landmarks for wet tissue trimming.
  • Perform tissue trimming and record gross tissue observations.
  • Maintain study data files and specimens in an organized, confidential manner.
  • Operate tissue processing equipment and perform routine maintenance.
  • Communicate protocol deviations or SOP deviations to area management.
  • Follow all safety requirements and SOPs.

Inotiv is seeking an Associate Histology Technician to join our lab in Maryland HeightsJoin us in embracing research and science to impact the health and well-being of people all over the world.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAbility to identify anatomical landmarks for wet tissuePerform Tissue TrimmingRecord Gross tissue observations found at trimDocument all study and laboratory activities as required for complianceMaintain study data files and specimens in an organized and confidential fashionReview study documentation for proper data recording and for compliance with SOPs.Operate and understand tissue processing equipmentPerforming preventative maintenance, monitoring, and calibration of laboratory equipment as assigned.Timely communication to area management (e.g., the Histology Operations Manager or Histology supervisor) regarding any protocol deviations or significant SOP deviations.Follow all company safety requirementsSkills and AbilitiesGood organizational skillsAbility to multitask and work with the minimal supervisionExperience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Ability to communicate with management, co-workers and other teamsEducation and ExperienceCollege Diploma or equivalent science level courses, lab experience preferredRequired experience must also reflect the Skills and Responsibilities outlined belowPhysical Activity and Working ConditionsWork is normally performed in a typical interior office work or laboratory environmentWork environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include use of protective equipmentThe noise level is usually moderateThis position will frequently be involved with sharps, solvents, irritants, acids, bases, and other hazardous chemicals, flammable materials and bio-hazards. Due to exposure to hazardous biological material (which may include HPB positive specimens), immunization to Hepatitis B and/or other diseases may be a requirement.Salary will be commensurate with experience and responsibilities.
