Job summary

Pennoni in Newark, DE is hiring an Associate Highway Engineer/Designer to join our Transportation Design Hub on a full-time basis. You’ll work on highway design projects using MicroStation Connect and ORD, contributing to roadway, drainage, and traffic design in a collaborative team.

The role requires 2–7 years of highway design experience, familiarity with OpenRoads Designer, ProjectWise, and related tools.

Qualifications

• Highway and roadway design experience using MicroStation Connect and ORD.
• 2–7 years of highway design experience.
• License(s) preferred: EIT, PE or PTOE.

Responsibilities

• Passion for design of transportation infrastructure projects.
• Modelling of highway projects and associated plans.
• Coordinate with design teams on hydrology, drainage, SWM/ESC and utilities.

Pennoni is hiring! Pennoni is looking for passionate Associate Highway - Engineer/Designers to join our collaborative, fun team on a full time, direct basis in Pennoni's Transportation Design Hub located in our Newark, DE office with experience consistent, but not limited to:

Job Responsibilities

• Passion for design, including Microstation/OpenRoads (ORD) Modelling of transportation infrastructure projects.
• Exposure to developing set of Transportation plans, including highway design, hydrology and drainage calculations and design, SWM and ES&C design; water and sanitary sewer utility layout, MOT plans and geometry.

Required Attributes

• Highway and roadway design experience using MicroStation Connect, ORD
• 2-7 years of experience

Preferred Attributes

• Highway and roadway design experience using MicroStation Connect, OpenRoads Designer (ORD) and ProjectWise (PW), Autoturn experience a plus
• Developing project cost estimates and specifications, including Special Provisions
• Drainage design, SWM and ES&C design experience. CCR certification a plus
• Construction consultation and utility coordination experience a plus
• Bluebeam PDF editor experience a plus
• GIS experience a plus
• Hydrology and Hydraulic (H&H) design experience a plus
• Utility Design, water and sanitary sewer utility layout and lighting design
• Developing Maintenance of Traffic schemes, Construction Phasing and Traffic Control Plans
• Licenses preferred: EIT, (PE or PTOE desirable)
