HDR, Inc. is seeking an Associate Health Principal to guide the Health sector in the local region as part of the leading Healthcare team.

The role focuses on developing a client base and augmenting the team’s reputation for delivering high-quality health projects. The successful candidate will deliver great work, grow their craft, and lead pursuits, directing project teams while nurturing strong client relationships throughout pre-positioning and project execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture and 7 years related experience.
  • At least 2 years of project management.
  • Registered Architect; ability to lead a team on projects.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project).

Responsibilities

  • Assist local Health Principal and leadership in reaching net fees booked goals and contribute to capture plans and proposals.
  • Lead interview strategies and internal HDR marketing processes; participate in risk awareness and data maintenance.
  • Serve as Project Manager on projects and prepare/ negotiate project contracts.
  • Maintain project oversight for technical/quality, financial performance, and schedule adherence.
  • Interface with clients proactively and mentor health staff and project teams.
  • Develop abstracts and presentations for industry conferences and promote sector messages.

In the role of Associate Health Principal, you will help guide the overall direction of the Health sector in the local region and be part of the #1 Healthcare team in the industry. The successful candidate must possess the drive, skillset, and charisma needed to develop a client base and to augment an unrivaled reputation for the core Health Team throughout the region.

The primary responsibility of the Associate Health Principal is to deliver great work, develop professional networks, grow your craft, and aspire to the role of a Health Principal within our practice. The role includes a variety of duties ranging from engaging in business development, leading pursuits, and directing project teams. Critical to this role is a commitment to developing and nurturing strong client relationships, beginning with pre-positioning activities and continuing through project execution.

Leadership Responsibilities
  • Assist local Health Principal and leadership in reaching net fees booked goals. Contribute to or lead capture plans, qualifications, and proposals for Health clients / pursuits.
  • Contribute to or lead interview strategies and implementation.
  • Learn / lead internal HDR marketing processes, such as GNG, Fee Development/Approval, risk awareness and data maintenance.
  • Serve as Project Manager (or other roles as appropriate) on projects and prepare / negotiate project contracts.
  • Maintain project oversight throughout execution, including conformance to client expectations for technical/quality, financial performance, and schedule adherence.
  • Interface with clients proactively, by engaging them regularly through multiple channels.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to health staff and project teams.
  • In collaboration with Health subject matter experts, and independently when appropriate, develop abstracts and presentations for industry conferences, seminars, workshops, and other similar events promoting sector messages, research, project outcomes, lessons learned, trends, etc.
  • Actively cultivate a network of industry partners for intelligence gathering and strategic development. Regular engagement in local relevant industry organizations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED
  • PMP certification
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture
  • 7 years related experience
  • A minimum 2 years project management
  • Registered Architect
  • Must be able to lead a team on projects
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
  • Good planning and mentoring skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must
