Job summary

WSP in the U.S. is seeking an Associate Geologist to join the Pacific Northwest Site Investigation & Remediation Team in Redmond, WA. This role focuses on environmental remediation for various clients and values 1 to 3 years of relevant consulting experience.

Job description

Overview

WSP is seeking an Associate Geologist with 1 to 3 years of consulting experience to join our Pacific Northwest Site Investigation & Remediation Team in Redmond, WA. The role focuses on environmental remediation and related services for industrial, commercial, and government clients.

Responsibilities
  • Perform fieldwork and data evaluation for soil, soil vapor/gas, groundwater, surface water, and stormwater investigations
  • Develop technical reports, plans, and calculations under guidance of senior reviewers
  • Support site remediation planning, chemical fate and transport assessment, hazardous waste management, permitting, and site planning
  • Document solutions and communicate findings through technical writing and verbal presentations
  • Participate in multidisciplinary project teams, managing multiple tasks within project deadlines
  • Adhere to federal, Oregon, and Washington regulations and WSP’s Code of Conduct
Required Qualifications
  • B.S. or higher in Geology, Hydrogeology, or related discipline
  • Minimum 1 year post‑education environmental consulting experience
  • Experience supporting sampling, drilling oversight, site assessment, remediation, and/or compliance projects
  • Proficiency in preparing tables, figures, boring logs, and technical summaries for reports
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately within deadlines
  • Effective organizational skills and ability to work independently in field and office environments
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of workplace safety policies and ability to comply with WSP’s health, safety, and anti‑harassment policies
Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to Oregon and/or Washington environmental regulatory programs
  • Geologist‑in‑Training professional registration in Washington (if a Geologist/Hydrogeologist is preferred)
  • Master’s Degree
  • 40‑hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) preferred
  • Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired

Compensation

Expected salary (all locations): $80,169 – $94,000. Compensation range is based on education, experience, and geographic location.
