WSP in the U.S. is seeking a Senior Environmental Practice Leader to oversee environmental projects across the Pacific Northwest region. You will lead client development, manage complex remediation projects, and be instrumental in staff mentorship and recruitment.

Job Description

Senior Environmental Practice Leader – WSP. This strategic role spans six cities in the Pacific Northwest: Redmond, WA; Seattle, WA; Tacoma, WA; Vancouver, WA; Boise, ID; and Portland, OR. You will lead and expand WSP’s environmental practice, driving client development, site investigation, remediation, and redevelopment projects while mentoring and recruiting staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities with both new and existing clients, and prepare related proposals.
• Lead strategic planning and implementation efforts for the Northwest region.
• Oversee and manage complex technical projects, ensuring scope, budget, and schedule alignment and maintaining high‑quality deliverables.
• Direct multiple remediation and restoration projects, managing planning, financial control, change and risk management, and contract/subcontract oversight.
• Build and maintain trust‑based relationships with clients, regulatory personnel, and project stakeholders.
• Nurture client relationships to encourage repeat business.
• Mentor staff in technical, consulting, and business development skills.
• Support recruitment efforts for key staff hires to grow the practice in the region.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in geology, hydrology, environmental, civil, or chemical engineering, or related field.
• At least 12 years of post‑education environmental consulting experience.
• Demonstrated success in client development and management.
• Proven leadership experience managing complex projects and teams.
• Experience with overall project delivery, including planning, control, financial management, change, risk, and contract/subcontract management.
• Deep understanding of soil and groundwater remediation regulations.
• In‑depth knowledge of Washington and Oregon regulations.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Willingness to travel within the region and occasionally outside the region.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and satisfactory driving record for business travel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a related field.
• Professional registration in Washington, Oregon, or Idaho (e.g., P.E., P.G.) or willingness to obtain registration.
• Current OSHA 40‑hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers.
