Role Overview

WSP is currently searching for a Hydrogeologist to join our Pacific Northwest Environmental Site Investigation, Remediation and Hydrogeology Team. You will support project delivery and growth in multiple market sectors and work closely with scientists and engineers in the Redmond, WA or Tigard, OR office.

Your Impact

• Conduct environmental site assessments (Phase I and II).
• Analyze literature, data, laboratory samples, and other information uncovering primary, secondary, and tertiary chemical impacts.
• Perform geologic and hydrogeologic investigations, testing, visualization, and numerical groundwater flow modeling for contaminated sites.
• Contribute to action plans for pollution, corrosion, hazardous waste, and environmental control programs.
• Assist in environmental permit applications and corrective strategies.
• Manage projects and communicate with regulatory agencies.
• Support proposal writing and client relationship development to secure repeat business.
• Classify contaminated soil or environmental materials and provide disposal guidance.
• Provide verbal and written inputs to multidisciplinary project teams.
• Mentor early‑career staff to support their growth and professional development.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Geosciences or a closely related discipline.
• 7–10 years of post‑education experience as a Geologist or Hydrogeologist.
• Proficiency with analytical geology concepts, research, investigation, technology, measurement tools, software, and techniques.
• Project management experience with mid‑level projects including tracking hours and expenses.
• Experience in site investigations/characterization (e.g., logging boreholes, designing wells) and sampling procedures (soil, water, gas, air, hazardous waste).
• Experience in designing, executing, and analyzing pumping tests and slug tests in various hydrogeologic settings.
• Experience in developing Work Plans and Data Summary Reports for site characterization and feasibility studies in accordance with CERCLA and other regulatory guidelines.
• Experience conducting Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments per ASTM guidelines and industry standards.
• Experience with UST investigations and remediation, including hydrocarbon‑impacted sites.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulatory programs (e.g., MTCA, RCRA, CERCLA).
• Proficiency with office automation and communication software.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior project experience in the Pacific Northwest is highly desired.
• A Master’s or PhD in environmental science/hydrogeology, geology, or a related field.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, ArcGIS, MODFLOW, R, and Python.
• Experience with environmental statistics and site closure strategies.
• Professional credentials such as PE, PG, LHg, or CWRE.
• 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER health and safety training.

Compensation and Benefits

• Expected Salary: $104,700 – $133,300.
