United States-based Universal Service Administrative Co. (USAC) is hiring an Associate General Counsel to handle complex employment, regulatory, and corporate matters for a large nonprofit.

The role supports the Deputy General Counsel and General Counsel in managing work across USF programs, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and efficient operations. The successful candidate will oversee in-house legal issues, collaborate with FCC staff, draft and edit diverse documents, and provide

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school.
• Admitted to at least one state bar.
• Minimum of seven years of directly related experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Counsel the Rural Health Care program and USF program administration, ensuring integrity and program success.
• Provide advice on contracts and procurement of goods.
• Stay abreast of FCC orders affecting USF programs and summarize actions for USAC units.
• Respond to Congressional or GAO inquiries regarding USF programs.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and identify legal issues.
