Universal Service Administrative Company seeks an experienced Associate General Counsel in Washington, DC. The role focuses on employment law, labor relations, and regulatory matters within a large nonprofit setting, supporting the Office of General Counsel and four USF programs.

The successful candidate collaborates with FCC staff, drafts legal documents, and advises on contracts, governance, and program compliance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• The candidate must hold a Juris Doctorate and be admitted to at least one state bar.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills are required.
• Ability to provide sound legal advice on complex regulatory and corporate matters.

Responsibilities

• Counsel the Rural Health Care program and USF program administration and related contracts.
• Stay abreast of FCC orders and summarize actions for business units.
• Respond to Congressional or GAO inquiries and ensure legal compliance across laws.
• Draft and edit legal documents including memoranda, policies and agreements.
• Coordinate with internal divisions and external contacts to improve processes.
