Meta seeks an Associate General Counsel on the Product Counseling team to provide strategic legal guidance to product, operations and business teams worldwide, focusing on Business Agents - Paid Messaging.

You will address data protection, competition, and IP concerns across multiple jurisdictions, coordinate with privacy, partnerships, communications, and other legal teams, and help implement responsible AI practices.

Job description

Meta is seeking a highly motivated and experienced team player to serve as Associate General Counsel on Meta's product counseling team. The position will focus on providing strategic legal counseling to internal product, operations, and business teams in order to identify and mitigate global legal risk, primarily in connection with Meta's Business Agents - Paid Messaging. The role sits at the intersection of product and privacy, working closely with other legal department subgroups and requiring the creation and application of legal frameworks to new and innovative products and services. Associate General Counsel, Product (Business Agents - Paid Messaging) Responsibilities:

• Analyze products, policies and initiatives to provide practical legal risk mitigation strategies for products across multiple jurisdictions
• Provide product, engineering, and other business teams with legal advice across many subject areas including data protection laws and regulations, international competition law frameworks, intellectual property laws, and other global legal frameworks
• Help drive consensus and coordinate with public policy, partnerships, communications and other cross-functional teams on multi-disciplinary issues
• Work cross-functionally with attorneys from other legal teams such as privacy, regulatory, commercial, and litigation
• Support privacy and data protection compliance initiatives as they relate to Business Agents - Paid Messaging products

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience working independently and cross-functionally
• Experience working on multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
• Experience advising clients on risk mitigation across technology product platforms
• Experience working with enterprise tools, developer platforms, messaging services or other Internet technologies
• In-house experience at a technology company
• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
• Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
• Business judgment and client counseling experience
• Experience in product counseling and data protection related international frameworks
