Position Summary:

We are seeking an Associate General Counsel - Physician/Faculty Contracting to join our legal team. The successful candidate will support the NYU Langone Faculty Group Practice (FGP) and its ambulatory network, providing legal advice and managing activities related to physician integration initiatives and compliance with applicable laws and policies.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Draft, review, and negotiate agreements related to physician employment, services, leasing, licensing, acquisitions, and affiliations, ensuring consistency with policies and regulations.
2. Review employment agreements for faculty, advise on compliance, and negotiate amendments.
3. Participate in negotiations regarding physician recruitment, licensing, and practice acquisitions.
4. Provide legal training to FGP staff and administrators.
5. Conduct legal research and prepare documentation for physician integration initiatives, including compensation arrangements.
6. Develop and update template agreements and legal clauses.
7. Manage and oversee physician contracting processes, ensuring compliance and proper review.
8. Lead the development of a contract management database for the institution.
9. Handle multiple assignments and collaborate across departments.

Minimum Qualifications:

Admission to the New York Bar with at least five years of healthcare law experience, either in a law firm or in-house. Proven experience in healthcare agreements, regulations, and laws such as Stark and Anti-Kickback statutes. Strong communication, research, and client service skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience as legal counsel within an academic medical center or hospital system.

Qualified candidates must communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
