Job summary

United-Biosource-Corporation (UBC) is seeking an Associate General Counsel to provide strategic legal counsel on clinical and commercial regulatory matters and data privacy across the EU and US. This senior role will support privacy and data protection, EU employment law, and cross-functional business initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 15 years legal experience, including at least 7 years in-house at a CRO/biopharma or related company.
• Experience advising on global clinical trials, decentralized or hybrid models, real-world evidence, patient access and pharmacovigilance.
• Familiarity with global privacy laws and regulations.
• Experience with AI, ML, data analytics, cybersecurity, and data governance in life sciences.
• Experience advising on EU workforce matters, multi-country employee relations, and data protection.
• Experience supporting a privacy program, DPIAs, and DSARs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary/lead legal adviser on clinical and commercial biopharma services, regulatory, pharmacovigilance, data management, and related legal issues.
• Provide privacy and data protection guidance to business stakeholders across GDPR/UK GDPR and HIPAA frameworks.
• Monitor regulatory developments and recommend practical compliance strategies.
• Develop and operationalize privacy policies, templates, and governance processes.
• Lead or advise on privacy impact assessments, data mapping, and risk analyses for clinical and healthcare data processing.
• Support privacy-by-design and compliance-by-design reviews for new programs, systems, and vendor engagements.
• Partner with HR, Employee Relations, Compliance, and business leaders on EU workforce initiatives and country-specific matters.
• Provide guidance on EU employment law including hiring, documentation, workplace policies, and employee relations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate client and vendor master agreements, data processing agreements, and related documents.
• Coordinate with outside counsel and internal stakeholders on complex regulatory, contractual, and compliance matters.
