Job summary

EnergyHub is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join its growing legal team in New York. The role focuses on drafting and negotiating software and commercial contracts, advising on privacy, IP, and regulatory matters, and partnering with business teams to scale processes and risk management.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in-house or large firm experience, a J.D. from a leading law school, and NY Bar eligibility. Occasional travel to Alarm.com HQ in DC area may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in-house or large law firm experience, with software/technology industry exposure.
• Experience negotiating, drafting and reviewing broad range of commercial contracts; corporate, commercial, privacy, IP, regulatory and compliance issues.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of software, technology, services, vendor, reseller, licensing, marketing and other commercial contracts.
• Advise on commercial terms, compliance, privacy, security, and regulatory matters.
• Collaborate with executive, sales, IT, product and other business teams to provide legal support and scale processes.
• Coordinate with outside counsel and manage internal paralegal resources.
