Zelis Healthcare, LLC in the United States is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to advise on data privacy matters, AI, and cybersecurity. The role reports to the VP, Managing Counsel, Technology and develops policies, training, and processes to address data rights and protection.
You will partner with IT, product, and business teams, review contracts, and help manage regulatory changes while providing timely counsel and proactive risk management.

Assistant General Counsel will report directly to the VP, Managing Counsel, Technology. The role requires an experienced legal professional who will advise on data privacy matters (HIPAA, state privacy laws, offshoring, AI, TCPA, etc.), data use rights, compliance with privacy and security laws, AI, and cybersecurity obligations. The successful candidate will develop and implement policies, practices, and training programs, and help business stakeholders address emerging data rights, protection, and AI issues.
• J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice.
• 5+ years’ experience handling privacy and data use issues in the healthcare setting.
• Experience in the technology sector (preferred).
• No visa sponsorship required.
Zelis is headquartered in the U.S. with multiple locations across the country and in Hyderabad, India. Work location is based on position needs and determined by leadership. In‑office work varies by role; our hybrid approach is flexible, with in‑office presence guided by team and business needs.
$153,000.00 – $193,800.00. Base pay is part of a comprehensive rewards package that may include discretionary bonuses, commissions, and other incentives.
