Job summary

IU Health is seeking a part-time nutrition services team member at North Hospital. You will prepare, plate, serve, and transport patient meals and related items, delivering courteous service to patients, families, physicians, and staff.

Responsibilities include maintaining sanitation and infection control practices, and operating food service and computer equipment as needed. Flexible, rotating shifts may be required to meet patient needs.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to operate kitchen equipment.
• Must wear protective equipment as required by environment/regulations.
• Adheres to local health and safety requirements for safe food handling.
• Ability to climb ladders.
• Physical ability to stand, reach, squat, bend, and lift up to 80% of time.

Schedule: Part Time Rotating Shift (0-34 hours weekly)

Department Supported: Nutrition Services

Work Location: North Hospital

Prepares, plates, serves, and transports food and supplies to provide a high level of satisfaction for patients, family members, physicians, team members, and the public. Responsible for timely, accurate, and courteous service. Responsible for associated sanitation, cleaning, and infection control practices to ensure food safety. Operates a variety of food service and computer equipment.

Candidate Requirements

• Requires the ability to operate kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to wear protective equipment/clothing required by the environment or government regulations such as gowns, gloves, goggles, rubber-soled closed-toe footwear, etc.
• Requires adherence to local health regulations and safety requirements to produce safe food for consumption.
• Requires the ability to climb ladders.
• Physical requirements to include: reaching, standing for long periods of time, squatting, bending, carrying and/or lifting supplies and equipment weighing 35 lbs. or more, up to 80% of the time.

Candidate Preferred

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience is preferred.
• No experience is required. Prior food service experience is preferred.
