Job summary

City of Winston-Salem seeks an entry‑level maintenance technician to assist Master and Senior Technicians with equipment maintenance and repair tasks. The role involves performing routine repair work that may not require extensive mechanical knowledge, including PM services and state inspections.

The position covers tasks such as brake jobs, tire changes, battery replacement, and belt/hose replacements, and may involve service calls on various tire sizes.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude, good communication and logical reasoning skills.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Six months work experience and some formal training are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Completes PM services and State inspections.
• Performs a variety of relatively uncomplicated repair tasks such as routine brake jobs, tire changes, battery replacement, and belt and hose replacement.
• Replace, repair, mount, balance and perform service calls on tires of all sizes for automotive and equipment.
