Job summary

Jensen Hughes is seeking an Associate Fire Protection Engineer in Las Vegas, NV. You will participate in life safety code consulting, sprinkler and fire alarm design, and performance-based fire engineering under supervision of a licensed engineer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection, Mechanical, Civil or Architectural Engineering or related field.
• Effective written and oral communication skills to write reports, business correspondence, presentations and procedures.
• Passion advancing the science of safety and exceeding client expectations.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional-level fire protection engineering services under guidance of a P.E. or senior staff.
• Develop plans, specifications and inspection reports to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Assist in field investigations, design coordination and checking of calculations.
• Identify applicable codes and standards for project inquiries.
• Conduct basic building code analyses, egress analyses, fire detection and alarm reviews and hydraulic calculations.
• Apply engineering calculations for egress, area and sprinkler systems.
• Submit progress reports to Project Managers and Leaders.
• Communicate effectively with project team members and clients.
