Jensen Hughes is seeking an Associate Fire Protection Engineer for its Las Vegas, Nevada office. This early-career role welcomes recent graduates or engineers with interest in fire protection.

You will gain early responsibility and support toward professional licensure as you work on life safety code consulting, sprinkler and fire alarm design, and performance-based fire engineering under supervision. You will contribute to plans, specifications, reports, and field tasks while developing skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection, Mechanical, Civil or Architectural Engineering or related field.
• Strong written and oral communication for reports and client interactions.
• Passion for safety science and exceeding client expectations.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional fire protection engineering services under supervision.
• Develop plans, specs and reports to industry standards.
• Assist in field investigations, design checks and project coordination.
• Identify applicable codes and standards for responses.
• Conduct analyses including egress, smoke control and hydraulic calculations.
• Apply engineering calculations for size, egress, and water supplies.
• Submit progress reports to project managers.
• Communicate effectively with project team and clients.
• Demonstrate problem-solving and initiative.
