Job summary

Edelman Financial Engines is seeking an Associate Financial Planner to support Financial Planners in delivering comprehensive client-focused financial advice. You will assist with analyses across retirement, investments, tax planning, estate considerations, and education funding while ensuring regulatory compliance.

The role emphasizes preparing materials for client meetings, proactive opportunity identification, and clear communication with clients.

Qualifications

Minimum 1–3 years of financial services industry experience in a broker/dealer or registered investment advisor environment.
FINRA Series 65 required.
Bachelor's degree in business or finance or equivalent experience.
CFP designation preferred.
Financial services and insurance sales experience preferred.
Strong understanding of finance and investment markets.

Responsibilities

Performs financial planning analyses for clients including retirement, investments, estate, tax, education funding, real estate, and risk management needs analysis.
Prepares presentations, research, and supporting materials for client meetings and reviews.
Conducts assessments of clients and prospects' evolving financial planning needs to uncover new opportunities.
Provides reports including minimum distributions, performance, billing, insurance policies, and tax consequences.
Calculates required minimum distributions, income needs, tax consequences, and contributions/withdrawals.
Maintains high‑quality client relationships and stays informed on industry trends.
