Job description

Location: Hybrid role based in Woburn, MA

Our client is a dynamic, boutique wealth management firm focused on helping clients navigate their financial lives through comprehensive planning, thoughtful advice, and long-term relationships. The firm provides holistic wealth management, investment advisory services, retirement planning, education funding strategies, and risk management.

They are adding an Associate Advisor to support their advisory team and work closely with experienced Lead Advisors while developing toward greater responsibility for client relationships.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their wealth management career who has a strong foundation in financial planning and wants to continue developing as an advisor. The Associate Advisor will serve in a "second chair" capacity, ensuring client meetings are thoroughly prepared, supporting planning conversations, communicating with clients, and taking ownership of follow-through after meetings.

The role is designed as an approximately two-year developmental path toward becoming a Service Advisor, based on individual performance and readiness.

Responsibilities
  • Support Lead Advisors in managing an assigned group of up to approximately 200 client relationships
  • Conduct thorough case reviews before client meetings, including reviewing the client's financial picture, recent activity, outstanding items, and planning considerations
  • Ensure Lead Advisors are fully briefed and prepared for client meetings
  • Prepare and update planning documents, client questionnaires, presentations, screenshots, and other meeting materials
  • Proactively identify missing information, potential issues, and financial planning opportunities
  • Finalize meeting notes, CRM documentation, and client follow-up communication
  • Respond to appropriate client questions and proactively follow up on outstanding information or action items
  • Coordinate client needs and action items across the Advisory, Planning, and Operations teams
  • Maintain accurate and organized client information across the CRM, planning folders, spreadsheets, and internal tracking tools
  • Update asset, account, and planning information as client circumstances change
  • Assist with client servicing and planning conversations involving 401(k)s, deferred compensation, HSAs, company stock, and other routine financial planning needs
  • Serve as a knowledgeable and responsive resource for clients between meetings
  • Develop a deeper understanding of the reasoning behind financial planning recommendations
  • Work closely with experienced advisors to strengthen financial planning knowledge, client communication skills, and advisor judgment
  • Take on increasing client-facing responsibility as knowledge and experience develop
  • Demonstrate strong ownership and follow-through to ensure client and internal action items are completed
Qualifications
  • 1–2 years of experience in financial planning, wealth management, or a related advisory role
  • Life & Health Insurance license required
  • Series 7 license required
  • Strong interest in financial planning and a desire to build a long-term career as a financial advisor
  • Highly proactive, organized, and detail-oriented
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to anticipate needs and take ownership of client and advisor follow-through
  • Comfortable interacting directly with clients and developing client relationships
  • Strong desire to learn and understand the "why" behind financial planning recommendations
  • Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively across advisory, planning, and operations teams
  • CFP® certification strongly encouraged and required for advancement into additional advisor roles

The Associate Advisor role is designed as an approximately two-year developmental path toward a Service Advisor position. As the Associate Advisor develops financial planning expertise, client communication skills, relationship management capabilities, and advisor judgment, they will have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility and ultimately independently manage existing client relationships.

Compensation
  • Base Salary: $80,000–$110,000, commensurate with experience
