Apex Companies is seeking an Associate Project Manager for our Environmental Team in Glastonbury, CT. You will lead and support environmental projects across Connecticut, balancing office planning with hands-on field activities, and coordinating with clients to ensure timely project delivery.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in environmental consulting, CT regulatory experience, and strong report writing skills.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Environmental Science or related major is required.
• 5+ years of relevant environmental consulting experience.
• 3+ years of CT-based regulations experience.
• Strong technical report writing proficiency.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness for infrequent night and weekend work.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare proposals for environmental projects including technical scopes of work.
• Project management of CT-based environmental projects including client communication and invoicing.
• Prepare technical reports (RAPs / COIs / GMRs).
• Conduct ASTM Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments.
• Collect field samples of soil, soil vapor, groundwater, surface water, and drinking water.
• Provide oversight of site investigation and characterization and remedial actions.
• Support emergency response services.
• Communicate and collaborate with team members.
• Manage workloads and records.
• Implement health and safety policies.
• Meet financial-based targets.

We are hiring an Associate Project Manager to join our Environmental Team, based in Glastonbury, CT. This position provides a dynamic mix of office-based project management and hands-on field work supporting environmental projects throughout Connecticut and the surrounding area.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare proposals for environmental projects, including technical scopes of work
• Project management of CT-based environmental projects, including client communication and invoicing
• Prepare technical reports (RAPs / COIs / GMRs)
• Conduct ASTM Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments
• Collect field samples of soil, soil vapor, groundwater, surface water, and drinking water
• Provide oversight of site investigation and characterization as well as contaminated site remediation
• Support emergency response services
• Communicate and collaborate with others
• Manage workloads and records
• Implement health and safety policies
• Meet financial-based targets

What we're looking for:

• BA/BS in Environmental Science or related major is required
• Must have 5+ years of relevant experience in environmental consulting or a related field
• Must have 3+ years of experience with Connecticut-based regulations
• Demonstrated technical report writing proficiency.
• Valid driver's license, good driving history and reliable transportation are required
• Must be available for infrequent night and weekend work
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments and various weather conditions
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
• Excellent safety record and understanding of safe work practices
• Must be able to travel 40% regionallyFamiliarity with State Superfund and applicable federal and state regulations preferred
• Connecticut- specific MS4 stormwater and CTDEEP regulatory/remediation experience preferred
• CAD and GIS experience a plus
• 40-hr HAZWOPER certification preferred
