Job summary

Delta Faucet Company seeks a specialist to execute design validation and verification tests for new and existing products. You will provide technical testing support to engineers and contribute insights to project teams.

Role involves developing test methods, analyzing results, and assisting in the creation of new test equipment within a collaborative lab team.

Qualifications

  • AS or BS in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology or related field with 8+ years of experience, or equivalent combination.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Experience setting up and executing performance testing using lab equipment and instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of testing equipment including pressure gauges, flow meters, load cells, and pressure transducers.
  • Familiarity with ISO 17025 quality documents (SOPs, design specs, work instructions, training guides, test methods).
  • Working knowledge of CSA, ASS, ASME, ASTM, and ISO standards.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new applications.

  • Provide technical guidance to engineers and lab technicians for future actions in product development.
  • Assist engineers in developing or improving products through testing services for performance and endurance.

Your Role at Delta Faucet

Executes defined engineering design verification and validation test plans for product development while identifying potential product quality issues before product launch date. This role is charged with more complex requests within the Lab as well as more individual involvement within the project teams. This position is responsible for providing product testing support to engineers and providing technical insights to the project teams. Assist in design, development, and improvements to existing products by providing product testing services of performance and endurance to many different industry standards. This role must have the ability to handle more complex root cause investigations and can theorize and prove out through testing and superior problem-solving skills and experience, similar to that of a product engineer. This position reports to the Lab Technical Services Manager and will work in a 5-to-9-person team environment.

Responsibilities
  • Execute design validation and verification testing of new or existing products or processes to internal and existing industry standards
  • Provide technical guidance to product engineers and laboratory technicians to help lead future courses of action with product development efforts
  • Assist product engineers in development of new or existing products or processes
  • Participate in the design and construction of more specialized test equipment and fixtures
  • Work with Innovation team to help articulate and test out new technologies or products which are new to company or industry
  • Conduct root cause failure analysis on complex field returned products
  • Execute up to 100 Work Requests with written Test Reports annually
  • Identify at least 3 laboratory improvement opportunities annually
  • Provide support to maintain the laboratory standard work review program
  • Maintain a 5s compliant work environment with a minimum of 85% audit compliance
Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate will possess an AS or BS in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology or related field and 8+ year of relevant experience; or the equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Strong emphasis is given to excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Previous experience setting up and executing performance testing using laboratory equipment and instrumentation is preferred.
  • Knowledge of use and care of testing equipment including pressure gages, flow meters, load cells, and pressure transducers required. Familiarity and understanding of ISO 17025 quality documents such as SOP’s, design specs, work instructions, training guides and test methods.
  • A working knowledge of relevant industry standards such as CSA, ASS, ASME, ASTM and ISO would prove beneficial.
  • Computer literacy is required in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as the ability and desire to learn new applications.
