The County of Riverside's Flood Control District has multiple opportunities for Associate Engineers/Associate Civil Engineers assigned to various divisions located in Riverside.
These Engineers will, under minimal supervision, perform diverse and challenging flood control engineering tasks across the District's divisions, including Planning, Design, Construction, Operation, and Maintenance of Stormwater Management facilities. Candidates may also supervise or train lower classifications within these roles.
The ideal candidates will have experience leading and organizing teams involved in planning, designing, reviewing, and approving public works projects. They should have direct experience with hydrology studies, hydraulic analyses, floodplain analysis, structural design, plan/drawing preparation, specification writing, bid document writing, construction contract administration, and/or inspection of public works facilities. Knowledge and experience with engineering software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, WSPG, Inroads, AutoCAD, CivilD, Flo-2D, or similar are highly encouraged.
This position offers a flexible schedule with the possibility of telecommuting one day per week after training, subject to departmental discretion.
The Riverside County Flood Control and Water Conservation District is dedicated to controlling and conserving floodwaters and stormwaters, protecting watercourses, watersheds, public highways, and safeguarding lives and property within its jurisdiction.
Associate Engineer: $94,613.50 - $122,948.17 annually
Education: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or possession of an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
Experience: Two years of professional civil engineering experience.
Associate Civil Engineer: $101,236.48 - $132,609.96 annually
Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Bioresource & Agricultural Engineering.
Experience: Two years of professional civil engineering experience.
Knowledge of civil engineering fundamentals, hydraulic analysis, hydrology, surveying, construction processes, and structural design is essential.
Ability to independently manage public works engineering projects, supervise staff, and maintain cooperative relationships is required.
