Job summary

Ampirical is seeking an Associate Engineer to design detailed electric systems and components for Substation Facilities. You will prepare protection and control diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams under supervision, using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and Bentley tools.

The role focuses on delivering detailed protection and control design packages for construction and requires 0–2 years of experience in the field, with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Engineering Technology Degree and 0-2 years of experience in protection and control design.
  • Experience with CAD tools: AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Bentley Microstation, Bentley Substation.

Responsibilities

  • Using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Bentley Microstation, and Bentley Substation to create electrical substation equipment drawings and layouts.
  • Perform voltage drop calculations to size cables appropriately.
  • Produce 2D drawings of one-line diagrams, control building layouts, panel layouts and wiring diagrams.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers to develop final construction packages.

Your Role: Associate Engineer

Job Summary

The Associate Engineer is responsible for the detailed design of electric systems and components for Substation Facilities in accordance with applicable industry codes and standards. This includes preparation of protection and control one-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, and wiring diagrams. This position is responsible for developing detailed protection and control design packages for electrical substation construction purposes and works under the supervision of experienced electrical engineers.

Job Duties
  • Using Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk AutoCAD Electrical, Bentley Microstation, and/or Bentley Substation, software in the preparation of electrical substation equipment including schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams and panel layout drawings.
  • Perform voltage drop calculations as required to proper cable sizing.
  • Prepare 2D drawings of one-line/elementary diagrams, control building layouts, panel layouts, schematics, wiring diagrams, power distribution system, etc.
  • Consult with electrical engineer and engineering supervisor to develop the 2D drawings for final construction packages.
Qualifications
  • Engineering Technology Degree plus 0-2 years of experience in protection and control design.
  • Design experience in Autodesk AutoCAD, and/or Autodesk AutoCAD Electrical, Bentley Microstation, and/or Bentley Substation.
