Job summary

A civil engineering firm in Barnegat Township is seeking an Associate Engineer to develop and draft civil engineering designs. Compensation: $80,000 - $100,000 / year

Responsibilities
  • Design and Drafting: Develop civil engineering designs, including site layouts, grading, drainage, utilities, and roadways using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D).
  • Permitting and Compliance: Prepare and submit permit applications to local, state, and federal agencies, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Project Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, surveyors, and other engineering disciplines to deliver comprehensive solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Technical Reports: Create engineering reports, feasibility studies, and calculations to support project design and decision-making.
  • Field Support: Conduct site visits to monitor project progress, verify design implementation, and resolve on‑site issues as needed.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: 2–5 years of experience in civil engineering design, preferably in land development or municipal projects.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other relevant engineering software; knowledge of stormwater management software is a plus.
  • Licensing: Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification required; Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus or a willingness to obtain it.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented environment.
