Job summary

Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla, WA seeks an ER Technician I to support the clinical team by performing patient care tasks, vital signs, hygiene interventions, and transport under RN supervision. You will handle room preparation, stocking, and receptionist duties to maintain an organized, safe ED environment.

Role requires WA CNA or WA Medical Assistant credentials and BLS; full-time daytime schedule (36 hours weekly) with base pay range noted by Providence.

Qualifications

• Washington Nursing Assistant Certification license required at hire.
• Washington Medical Assistant Certification or registration required by 60 days after hire.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association required at hire.

Description

The ER Technician I supports the clinical team by performing assigned tasks and activities according to skill level and patient needs as assessed and delegated by the Registered Nurse. These activities may include patient care such as obtaining vital signs and weights, patient comfort and hygiene interventions, assistance with toileting, transporting patients by gurney or wheelchair, and miscellaneous duties in assisting the physician and nursing team. The ER Technician I performs routine stocking and organizing of department supplies and equipment and prepares rooms between patients maintaining a safe and clean environment. The ER Technician I also performs receptionist and clerical duties including such functions as: transcription of physician orders, retrieving computer data, computerized order entry, maintenance of ER Registry and filing of patient records. The ER Technician I supports the patient care activities by providing a calm and organized demeanor during potential stressful or traumatic clinical situations. Employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.

Shift Details:

Required Qualifications:

• Upon hire: Washington Nursing Assistant Certification License, or

• Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Certification, or

• Within 60 days of hire: Washington Medical Assistant Registration

• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 year of Hospital, physician office, emergency services, or other medical setting.
