Job summary

TeamHealth is seeking an experienced academic emergency medicine physician to serve as associate program director of the EM residency program at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, Ohio.

This leadership role will shape a growing residency that began its first class in 2023 and will focus on strategic planning, curriculum implementation, and faculty development. You will collaborate with the program director to ensure ACGME accreditation compliance, mentor residents and faculty, and

Qualifications

• Board certification by ABEM or AOBEM.
• Active medical license and hospital privileges or eligibility in Ohio.
• Minimum of three years of clinician administrator or educator experience in EM.
• Prior involvement as a core faculty member in an ACGME-accredited residency program preferred.
• Demonstrated educational and administrative expertise acceptable to the review committee.
• Proven record of scholarly activity including involvement in national/regional organizations, research, and academic presentations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the program director in providing strategic leadership and administrative oversight of the EM residency program.
• Collaborate with the program director to ensure compliance with ACGME accreditation requirements and maintain educational excellence.
• Recruit, mentor, and evaluate faculty and residents.
• Assist with curriculum development and implement changes to existing rotations.
• Coordinate resident academic and professionalism remediation activities as needed with CCC chair.
• Promote scholarly activity through research, publications, and presentations.
• Foster relationships with nursing, allied health, and hospital administration.
• Coordinate academic scheduling with chief resident as needed.
• Limit clinical responsibilities to 28 hours per week on average.
