Job summary

TeamHealth seeks a full-time, experienced academic emergency medicine physician to serve as associate program director of the EM residency program at Mercy Health - St. Rita's in Lima, Ohio. This leadership role shapes a growing residency that welcomed its first class in 2023.

You will partner with the program director on accreditation, curriculum, faculty development, and resident mentorship, with full support from hospital leadership to advance scholarly activity and program reputation.

Qualifications

• ABEM or AOBEM board certification is required.
• Active medical license and hospital privileges or eligibility in Ohio.
• Minimum of three years as a clinician administrator or educator in EM.
• Prior involvement as core faculty in an ACGME-accredited residency program preferred.
• Demonstrated educational and administrative expertise acceptable to the review committee.
• Proven record of scholarly activity including research and presentations.
• Strong interpersonal and team-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and administrative oversight of the EM residency program.
• Ensure compliance with ACGME accreditation requirements and maintenance of educational excellence.
• Recruit, mentor, and evaluate faculty and residents.
• Assist with curriculum development and rotation changes.
• Coordinate resident academic and professionalism remediation activities with CCC chair.
• Promote scholarly activity through research, publications, and presentations.
• Foster relationships with nursing, allied health, and hospital administration.
• Coordinate academic scheduling with chief resident as needed.
• Limit clinical responsibilities to 28 hours per week on average.
