Job description

Martha’s Vineyard Magazine is seeking an associate editor to play a key role across a range of editorial projects, including four Martha’s Vineyard Magazine issues, two Home & Garden issues, two Island Weddings issues, and various ancillary publications and digital products.

This role will support several important phases of the editorial process, including:

• Copy editing and proofreading
• Writing, including features and short front-of-book items
• Story development
• Overseeing social media channels and maintaining websites

Requirements

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, digitally fluent, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively. Familiarity with WordPress and Adobe products, such as InDesign and Photoshop, is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate. The candidate must live on Martha’s Vineyard. Housing may be available. Salary: $55,000, with potential to earn more on a freelance basis. Benefits include health insurance and 401K with employer match.
