Job summary

Qualifications

  • California-licensed DVM is required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient examinations and interpret diagnostics.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for canine and feline patients.
  • Assist with dentistry and general soft tissue surgery as needed.
  • Provide high quality client communication and education.

Job description

Privately owned small animal practice in the desirable, family friendly, Santa Clarita Valley is looking to expand, and we need you. We are an AAHA accredited, patient focused, preventative care practice. We believe in treating each patient as an individual and providing excellent customer service to their human companion. We believe early detection can prevent or delay onset of illness. And we believe no pet deserves to live with pain.

We are looking to add a qualified candidate for an associate veterinary position. Comprehensive examination of patients, ordering and interpreting appropriate diagnostic tests including laboratory and imaging results leading to diagnosis and treatment of diseases in dogs and cats. Basic Dentistry and General Surgery skills desired. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

We have an excellent support staff with multiple Registered Veterinary Technicians and experienced Veterinary Assistants and Customer Service Representatives. Our support staff work well together as a team to support the doctor's needs.

Mentorship plan is in place to ensure a successful and rewarding career.

Special interests such as laparoscopy, endoscopy, surgery or other special interests would be supported encouraged to add to our services. We currently offer laparoscopic procedures, surgery, advanced dentistry, and ultrasound. We bring in a boarded veterinary surgeon for more complicated or orthopedic procedures. Veterinary Emergency Group is located less than a mile away for after hours or weekend emergencies.

Numerous specialty veterinary hospitals reside within 30 miles or less to refer cardiology, ophthalmology, dermatology, etc.

No evening hours, no overnights and no weekends allow excellent work life balance.
