Job summary

Lilly is expanding its advanced manufacturing capabilities in Goochland County, VA and seeks an Associate Director – Technical Services/Manufacturing Science to lead theBioconjugate/Drug Product Manufacturing organization. This role drives technical oversight, process reliability, and continuous improvement across biology and bioconjugate manufacturing in a GMP environment.

The successful candidate will build and mentor a diverse team, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to startup

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years in biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
• 3+ years in a people-leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Lead a technical organization overseeing biological and bioconjugate manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with engineering, IT, operations and quality to ensure robust processes.
• Develop and retain a high-performing TS/MS team and culture of excellence.
• Provide coaching and performance management to direct reports.
• Determine staffing needs to support startup, qualifications and validations.
• Support development and implementation of robust control strategies for regulatory compliance.
• Review and approve documentation including procedures, deviation investigations, reports and validation protocols.
• Support project teams to have the facility ready to operate on schedule.
