Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics seeks a seasoned supply chain leader to own end-to-end supply activities with contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) in the United States. You will translate forecasts into executable supply plans and purchase orders, manage PO lifecycle through QA release, and report on inventory and consumption.

Responsibilities include reviewing 24-month forecasts, aligning commitments with contracts and capacity, and coordinating batch releases with CMOs.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA required with 10+ years in supply chain leadership; or 8+ years with MA/MBA; or 5+ years with PhD/PharmD.
  • Experience purchasing custom chemicals and managing third-party synthesis of pharmaceuticals.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and project management skills; ability to interact with senior management.
  • Deep knowledge of GMP, ICH Q7A, and pharmaceutical regulatory guidance.

Job description

Core Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end execution of supply activities across contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs).
  • Translate forecasted demand into executable supply plans and purchase orders (POs).
  • Manage order lifecycle from placement through QA release; ensure timely PO transactions and inventory/consumption reporting.
  • Review and validate medium- to long-term forecasts (~24 months); align forecast commitments to contract terms and CMO capacity.
  • Act as primary operational interface with CMOs; coordinate manufacturing progress, batch release timelines, and supply commitments.
  • Lead GEM CMO Execution engagement forums within the monthly S&OP cycle.
  • Identify and resolve supply risks (delays, capacity, quality issues); lead escalation processes and ensure stakeholder alignment.
  • Track performance metrics (schedule adherence, production attainment, on-time delivery); conduct root cause analysis and drive continuous improvement.
  • People leadership for ~5+ direct reports.
Knowledge/Skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication; structured, concise messaging.
  • Strong negotiation, organizational, and time-management skills; working knowledge of basic project management tools.
  • Ability to interact effectively with senior management.
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain practices/standards and pharmaceutical regulatory guidance (GMPs, ICH Q7A).
Requirements
  • 10+ years relevant experience with BS/BA, OR 8+ years with MA/MBA, OR 5+ years with PhD/PharmD.
  • Experience purchasing custom chemicals, planning pharmaceutical development, and managing third-party synthesis of intermediates/Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients.
Preferred
  • Experience in pharmaceutical operations/cGMP environment highly desirable.
