Job summary

The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) seeks an Associate Director to lead the Students and Educators Initiative in its nationwide and virtual programs. You will manage day-to-day operations, supervise one staffer, and coordinate with the Outreach leadership to advance programming and partnerships.

Based in CFR’s New York City office at least four days a week, you will help design events, manage budgets, and expand CFR’s academic reach through conferences, workshops, and webinars across the

Qualifications

• BA in international relations or related field
• MA preferred
• Five+ years in outreach, partnerships, IR, academia, government, or community engagement

Responsibilities

• Lead the Students and Educators Initiative and its program offerings
• Frame event agendas and speaker ideas for virtual and in-person events
• Manage scheduling, contracts, catering, and meeting materials
• Oversee day-to-day workflow for the initiative and one staffer
• Monitor the initiative budget and report on it
• Collaborate on outreach strategy with senior leadership
• Identify partnership opportunities and external conferences
• Grow CFR’s Outreach community and build new relationships in academia
• Coordinate with CFR Briefings on site visits by higher ed institutions
• Maintain communications and email campaigns and manage a LinkedIn group
• Track metrics and perform qualitative and quantitative analysis for reporting
• Manage CRM event records and data quality
• Work with CFR Education and external partners on crosscutting projects
• Provide general project support including events outside business hours
• Perform other duties as assigned
