Job summary

William Paterson University is seeking an Associate Director for the Office of Student Accounts to manage billing, receivables, collections, cashiering, refunds, and related technologies. You will supervise five staff and ensure compliance with federal, state, and university policies while optimizing operational efficiency.

The role focuses on Banner and TouchNet systems, implementing improvements, and collaborating across campus with Financial Aid, IT, Registrar, and Bursar teams to strengthen

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Higher Education Administration, or related field.
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in student accounts or higher education finance, incl. at least two (2) years in supervision.
• Experience with student financial systems and billing, receivables, collections, payment processing, and refunds.
• Knowledge of federal/state regulations, internal controls, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Administers Banner Student Accounts and related technologies, including TouchNet.
• Oversees tuition and fee assessment for Main Campus, WP Online, High School, and other programs.
• Manages student refund and payment processing operations, including refunds and payment plans.
• Performs financial reconciliations and adjusts journals as needed.
• Coordinates regulatory reporting and compliance activities.
