Job summary

The Quantum Collaborative Research Corp (QCoR) is a proposed research center within the Department of Physics, CMNS at the University of Maryland. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• 7+ years of professional experience managing business operations.
• 2+ years supervising or managing professional staff.
• Strong knowledge of business drivers, organizational communications, and data analytics.
• Knowledge of organizational and unit performance measures, and the impact of decisions on leadership objectives.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment, develop and administer policies, and interpret regulations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison between the QCoR director, faculty, staff, and external sponsors.
• Coordinate with HR, IT, Facilities, and Procurement to support the center’s operations.
• Apply knowledge of applicable laws and regulations to review documents for completeness and compliance.
• Oversee grant and contract management, budgeting, procurement, reporting, and revenue tracking.
• Establish and maintain business processes that support compliant financial transactions.
• Support principal investigators with pre‑ and post‑award activities and approve proposals.
• Manage day‑to‑day center activities, address complex administrative challenges, and align resources with program priorities.
• Supervise staff, promote professional development, and maintain high performance.
