Associate Director Project Team Leader (Biologics, Multispecifics, ADC)

Job Description Summary

This position will be located at the Cambridge site and will not have the ability to be remote.

The Biologics Research Center (BRC) is part of the BR and collaborates with disease areas and technical expert groups to build the future biologics therapy pipeline of Novartis through discovery and creation of antibody, protein, nucleic acid, and virus-based molecules.

We seek a motivated scientist and leader to join the Project and Portfolio Management group within BRC at Cambridge. Our team manages a wide range of biologics projects, from early strategic discussions to technical leadership in process development and developability assessment. You will report to the BRC's Project and Portfolio Management Cambridge Biologics team manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple NVS global sites to discover and develop antibody, multispecific, and ADC therapies.
  • Co-lead projects with Disease Area (DA) project leads; formulate and execute project strategies, manage interfaces, timelines, priorities, and presentations.
  • Assemble and lead cross-functional BRC project teams; design strategies, adapt to biological and technical needs, and ensure scientific and technical excellence.
  • Guide projects on biotherapeutic approaches, formats, modalities, technologies, and early process development.
  • Align with internal leadership and DAs on strategy and resourcing; provide regular updates to BRC leadership team.
  • Represent BRC in core project teams and manage project interfaces, timelines, and strategies.
  • Lead internal project meetings; interpret data, adapt strategies, and ensure clear documentation and communication.
  • Manage project status updates, issues, and resolutions; ensure transparent communication with stakeholders.
  • Foster open communication, build trust, and mentor team members to achieve program goals.

Minimum Requirements:

  • PhD in biologics research and development.
  • At least 5 years of industry experience in biotherapeutic design, production, and characterization.
  • Proven success in leading global, cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent project and program management skills, organizational skills, and strong communication abilities.
  • Expertise in drug development, target biology, and therapeutic design.
  • Creative, critical thinker with attention to detail and strategic vision.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, adaptable, and eager to learn new tools and processes.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple communications and requests.

Compensation and Benefits:

The expected salary range is $138,600 - $257,400/year, subject to market fluctuations and individual factors. The total package may include bonuses, stock units, and other benefits such as medical, financial, 401(k), paid time off, parental leave, and more. Final compensation will be determined upon offer.
