Job summary

Kernal Biologics, Inc. is seeking an experienced immunology leader to head our mRNA therapeutics efforts. This role reports to the Senior VP of R&D and oversees preclinical immunology, coordinating with computational biology and mRNA delivery leadership in a fast-paced startup environment.

Ideal candidate has a PhD or MD/PhD, 7+ years in biotech/pharma, and a proven record in drug development, regulatory interactions, and leading teams to deliver immunology programs in vivo.

Qualifications

• PhD or MD/PhD required with 7+ years biotech/pharma experience and 3+ years in managerial roles.
• Experience with preclinical development in autoimmune diseases, preferably immuno-oncology (CAR-T).
• Experience authoring regulatory filings and leading meetings with agencies.

Responsibilities

• Guide preclinical immunology efforts for mRNA 2.0 therapeutics.
• Design, execute, oversee, and analyze preclinical pharmacology, toxicology, DMPK studies for in vivo CAR-T programs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align and execute R&D plans.
• Stay updated with literature and patent landscape; prepare reports and white papers.
• Lead regulatory filings with FDA, EMA, and TGA.
