Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics seeks an Associate Director, Patient Access and Reimbursement to drive reimbursement and market access for Mirum FDA-approved products through MAP. You will educate payors, guide prior authorizations, and support patient access across regions.

Role requires 8+ years in pharma/biotech, 4+ years in orphan/rare diseases, and strong payer/market access experience, with up to 50% travel; Midwest residency is preferred.

Qualifications

• 8 years pharmaceutical/biotech experience.
• 4+ years specialty products in orphan/rare disease space (required).
• 3+ years strongly preferred in field reimbursement, patient access/support, payer account management, or market access strategy/operations.
• Strong payer landscape, payer accounts, and market access experience.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.
• Live in the Midwest.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders on account/territory strategy to maximize knowledge of payor policy and MAP processes.
• Serve as subject matter expert on reimbursement/access for cholestatic liver disease therapies (payer policies, prior authorizations, denials, appeals, peer-to-peer, and related education).
• Analyze and share insights on reimbursement/access experience.
• Provide targeted education to HCP office staff on MAP and access processes.
• Deliver patient-specific, payer-policy education to support prior authorizations and appeals for MAP consented, on-label patients.
• Collaborate on case management and HCP education needs.
• Troubleshoot HCP access issues; collect feedback and offer operational solutions.
• Conduct access business reviews with higher-volume accounts; track account and national trends.
• Attend weekly regional meetings; share access trends and related activities.
• Support improvement/training of MAP Patient Navigators (call calibration feedback and training).
• Develop compliant, customer-centric reimbursement educational materials.
• Mastery of data used in cases; comply with laws, regulations, and Mirum policies.
