Overview:

Quinnipiac University invites applications for an AssociateDirector of Student Engagement to help shape a vibrant and inclusive campus community through leadership development, studentorganizations, and orientation programs.

In this highly visible leadership role, you will inspire studentinvolvement by advising student leaders and organizations,fostering leadership development, and creating opportunities thatenhance the overall student experience. You will oversee studentorganization operations, provide strategic guidance to branches ofthe Student Government Association, and partner with colleaguesacross the University to develop engaging programs that cultivatebelonging, leadership, and community.

As a key member of the Office of Student Engagement leadershipteam, you will also direct the University's Orientation Leaderprogram, overseeing the recruitment, training, and supervision ofstudent leaders who play a vital role in welcoming new students toQuinnipiac. Working collaboratively with campus partners, you willcontribute to initiatives that promote student success, engagement,and institutional pride while helping to advance the University'smission and strategic priorities.

Responsibilities:

Administration, Supervision, & Advising

• Provides supervision, evaluation, and coaching to the AssistantDirector of Student Engagement, a part-time Finance Assistant, andgraduate assistants
• Approves expenditures and manages assigned budgets and relatedfiscal tasks in accordance with university policy
• Advises branches of the Student Government Association (SGA) inpartnership with the Director of Student Engagement, supportsindividual student media organizations, and serves in a managementrole for Student Engagement in the Director’s absence

Student Organization Oversight

• Serves as Chair of the Student Organization Event ManagementCommittee and approves student organization events in accordancewith Campus Life philosophy and university practices
• Develops, administers, and reviews key student organization systems and policies, including recognition/reactivation, BobcatCentral, and leadership and event training for members, officers,and advisors
• Supervises the OrgFinance team, supporting organizations withbudgeting, spending, and financial management/reporting in linewith university policies
• Develops annual involvement opportunities each semester, andserves as liaison to service, spiritual, cultural, and mediaorganizations to ensure consistent standards
• Collaborates with the Office of Belonging on the MulticulturalStudent Leadership Council, and supports cultural, identity, andspiritual organizations through retreats, meetings, andworkshops

Student Leadership Development

• Conceives, develops, and presents leadership developmentprograms aligned with Campus Life philosophy, and supports similarefforts across Campus Life

• Supports the Assistant Vice President in promoting leadershipdevelopment through advocacy and role-modeling

Marketing and Communications

• Coordinates OSE marketing efforts, including the BobcatBulletin and Instagram account, and liaises with the Marketing andCommunications team
• Communicates participation, demographic, and standing data fororganizations and events, and updates the website, brochures, andforms on an established timeline

Orientation Program

• Oversees recruitment, selection, training, and supervision ofOrientation Leaders, providing mentorship and fostering asupportive, engaging environment
• Works with Development & Alumni Affairs on family-relatedinitiatives, and collaborates with the Assistant Director onOrientation Leader trainings

Additional Duties

• Provides strategic vision and oversight to multiple integratedareas impacting student life
• Supports University and divisional strategic initiatives, andrepresents the Division of Student Affairs on assigneduniversity-wide committees

Attends and/or facilitates trainings, retreats, summits, andplanning sessions as needed, which may include some night andweekend work based on annual cycles

Performs other duties as assigned

Education Requirements:

• Master's degree is required.

Qualifications:

• 5-7 years of professional experience in working within StudentAffairs in a higher education environment
• Ability to understand and articulate the critical importancearound practices of inclusive excellence, justice, and diversity asit relates to higher education
• A demonstrated track record of creative problem solving andhigh productivity, along with excellent conflict resolution,judgment, and crisis management skills
• Demonstrates strong leadership, program planning, andorganizational skills to oversee a multi-faceted area providing awide range of student services
• A commitment and ability to engage students in the learningprocess through intentional programs and a high level of personalcontact is a must
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with individuals fromvaried backgrounds.
