Position Summary

The Eugene M. Lang Entrepreneurship Center at Columbia Business School seeks an Associate Director of Programming to oversee ongoing operations and contribute to Center strategy. The Center is led by two Faculty Directors and a Managing Director, and the Associate Director plays a strong operational role across multiple student and alumni-facing areas.

The Lang Entrepreneurship Center is Columbia Business School’s hub for entrepreneurial and VC activity, research, education, and engagement. The Lang Center supports students, faculty, alumni, and the broader entrepreneurial ecosystem through curricular and co-curricular programming, research support, thought leadership, alumni engagement, and fundraising.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Director, the Associate Director, Programming is a key operational leader responsible for the design, execution, and continuous improvement of the Lang Center’s student- and alumni-facing co-curricular programming, as well as day-to-day support for selected curricular initiatives. The role plays an integrative function within the Center, translating strategic priorities and programmatic goals into high-quality, well-executed offerings that support the Lang Center’s mission and activity portfolio.

This role is execution- and coordination-focused, with responsibility for managing programs, stakeholders, timelines, and outcomes across multiple initiatives, while working in close partnership with faculty, Center leadership, and School offices.

Responsibilities

Co-Curricular Activities for Degree Students and Alumni

• Manages the planning, execution, and evaluation of co-curricular programs serving students and alumni, including accelerator-style programs, experiential learning initiatives, and signature Lang Center offerings aligned with the Center’s Launch, Invest, and Scale pillars.
• Oversees logistics, communications, and operational workflows for assigned programs, ensuring consistency with Center standards and School policies.
• Develops and manages the day-to-day execution of special initiatives supporting students and alumni, such as discount programs, promotional campaigns, and time-bound engagement efforts.
• Tracks participation, outcomes, and satisfaction across assigned programs, including administering post-program surveys and synthesizing results. Uses qualitative and quantitative feedback to recommend and implement programmatic improvements. Supports the scaling and refinement of high-demand programs by implementing operational improvements informed by participant feedback and outcome data.
• Coordinates closely with internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, alumni, practitioners, and partner offices, to ensure timely, high-quality delivery of program components.

Curriculum and Curricular Pathway Support

• In partnership with the Managing Director and Faculty Directors, supports the operational planning and execution of entrepreneurship- and venture capital–related courses and curricular initiatives.
• Assists with course-related logistics, practitioner and speaker coordination, and alignment between co-curricular programming and classroom experiences.
• Provides support for special curricular initiatives as needed, including pilots or expansions related to undergraduate or interdisciplinary entrepreneurship offerings.

Communications and Engagement Support

• Collaborates with Center colleagues and School partners to support communications related to programming, including website updates, newsletters, email campaigns, and social media content.
• Assists with program-related marketing and content development to ensure strong participation, clear messaging, and alignment with the Lang Center brand.

Team Support

• Contributes as a proactive and collaborative member of the Lang Center team, supporting cross-functional projects and peak programming periods as needed.
• Works closely with colleagues across the School and the Center to ensure coordination, information sharing, and consistent execution across activities.
