Annual Salary Range: $160,000-$170,000, plus annual bonus

Work arrangement: In office, Irvine, CA with hybrid flexibility available

Position Overview

We are seeking a strategic and execution focused Associate Director of Marketing, to report to the Vice President of Marketing at Cellese. This individual will help manage the end-to-end marketing function across Brand Marketing; Digital (including the .com, social, paid media, and the direct-to-consumer website); and new product development and launches—driving growth for Cellese’s portfolio and innovative pipeline assets across all channels.

This candidate must demonstrate the ability to manage, influence and lead cross-functionally to ensure all elements of the brand are rooted in insights and strategy and are consistent across all touch points. Critical to this role is the ability to think big, but roll up your sleeves to execute, have modern marketing acumen, has ability to develop strong relationships and exceptional leadership skills. The candidate must demonstrate strong cross-functional collaboration, excellent communication and the ability to deliver real results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions
Brand Marketing & Strategy
  • Lead the implementation of marketing initiatives from concept to execution, driving awareness, demand and education
  • Assist in the development of annual brand planning, including business objectives, strategies and translation of strategies to marketing programs and campaigns that meet and exceed the brand’s strategic and financial KPIs
  • Help deliver robust strategic and operational commercial plans that reflect core brand positioning, messaging, and campaigns-supporting new market/channel development, sales integration, and overall ROI analysis.
  • Develop campaign briefs that identify key consumers and customer segments, program objectives and strategies, KPIs and a successful measurement plan to develop creative and content that supports customer and consumer engagement, acquisition, conversion and retention.
  • Provide brand thought leadership and stay current on trends in the aesthetic space via sales engagement, market research, advisory boards, and industry conferences
  • Work hand in hand with customer marketing to refine brand strategies and tactical plans
  • Define the brand KPI and measurement plans and continuously monitor brand performance across various key metrics. Ensure reporting to key leaders and cross-functional partners
Digital, Social & Direct-to-Consumer
  • Own the digital marketing strategy and roadmap across the corporate .com, brand sites, social channels, paid media, email, and the direct-to-consumer website, ensuring a cohesive omnichannel experience for both HCP and Consumer audiences
  • Lead the direct-to-consumer website, including merchandising, content, conversion optimization, and the end-to-end customer journey, partnering with cross-functional teams to drive acquisition, conversion, retention, and revenue
  • Develop and manage the paid media strategy across search, social, programmatic, and display, setting budgets, targets, and a measurement framework that maximizes ROI and efficient spend
  • Build and grow social media presence and content strategy, leveraging organic and influencer programs to drive brand awareness, engagement, and community
  • Establish digital KPIs and analytics, continuously monitoring web, social, and media performance and using data and insights to optimize campaigns and inform business decisions
New Product Development & Launch Strategy
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to shape the new product development pipeline—contributing consumer and market insights, defining target positioning, and guiding offerings from concept through commercialization.
  • Define launch objectives and ensure launch excellence by developing comprehensive product go to market launch plans, including market research plans, timelines, milestones, and budgets.
  • Own the full marketing strategy for launch: positioning, messaging, brand identity and promotional mix across HCP and Consumer driving awareness, consideration, and conversion for the product or brand.
  • Monitor and report on launch progress, including tracking of KPIs, identifying and mitigating risks.
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Create a strong partnership with sales, regulatory and R&D teams to optimize and streamline processes and ensure promotional planning, inclusive of messaging and all materials, and execution are in adherence of all guidelines and standards.
  • Work closely with customer marketing for local market insights that help refine brand strategies and implementation plans.
  • Create and drive a respectful, collaborative, and agile culture within the brand team and throughout cross-functional interfaces.
  • Manage external partners, including creative agencies, and PR agency to ensure partners have clear direction to execute timely and within budget.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelors degree is required; masters degree (MBA, MS) is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum eight (8) years of relevant strategy and marketing experience
  • Experience managing and developing direct reports, with proven ability to build team capability
  • Relevant aesthetics/beauty experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience across both consumer marketing and customer marketing (retention, lifecycle, or loyalty), with an understanding of how each discipline supports the other
  • Ability to successfully navigate ambiguity and succeed in a rapidly changing, fast-paced, environment
  • Product launch experience required, including developing launch positioning, tactical plans and leading cross-functional execution efforts.
  • Marketing/brand management experience executing marketing campaigns with preferred experience in pharma or CPG marketing
  • Exceptional leadership skills and marketing savvy; Agency Management experience preferred
  • Hands-on digital marketing experience required, including web/.com, social, paid media, and direct-to-consumer e-commerce
  • Hands-on content creation experience (e.g., copy, creative briefs, photo/video direction), not solely agency oversight
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively present to senior leadership.
Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, memorandums, policies, directives and professional correspondences. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
