PURPOSE:

The Associate Director of Development is responsible for driving revenue growth through fundraising strategies, managing key donor relationships, supervising staff, and leading special events. They will ensure adherence to best practices, oversee fundraising goals, and collaborate on organizational strategy.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Leadership and Strategy: Build a high-performing fundraising team, manage stakeholder engagement, develop and implement a three-year strategic plan, and enhance fundraising resources and metrics.
  2. Donor Engagement & Stewardship: Develop growth strategies, cultivate major donors, corporate partners, and foundations, and oversee stewardship activities.
  3. Team Leadership & Collaboration: Lead and mentor staff, facilitate cross-departmental communication, and align activities with budgetary needs.
  4. Special Events Strategy: Oversee national events, lead volunteer recruitment, optimize revenue, and evaluate event performance.
  5. Brand Stewardship: Coordinate with marketing, represent UMDF publicly, and ensure consistent messaging and collateral.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Experience: 5+ years of progressive fundraising success; 3+ years of management and volunteer leadership
