The Associate Director of Admissions' goal will be to successfullyhire, train, supervise, and motivate admissions staff towardimproving graduate and undergraduate enrollment, which is criticalto the success of the university. This position oversees members ofthe admissions recruitment team, including up to two UndergraduateAdmissions Specialists and the Graduate Admissions Specialist, andsupports territory management with a primary focus on graduaterecruitment. Approximately 75% of the role will be dedicated tograduate recruitment and 25% to undergraduate recruitment. Theideal candidate will be ready to work with the team on engagementand sales techniques that move students toward enrollment at theUniversity.


Job Responsibilities


  • Hiring, training, and coaching the Undergraduate AdmissionsCounselors team with positivity, care, and goal orientation whilemotivating them toward recruitment goals for head count and netrevenue that are in line with the goals of the University.

  • Supporting interdepartmental student recruitment initiatives byserving as an Admissions liaison to the Student Engagement Office,Residence Life division, and Athletics department.

  • Providing supervision and oversight of up to two UndergraduateAdmissions Specialists and the Graduate Admissions Specialist,ensuring alignment with recruitment goals, office priorities, andservice standards.

  • Serving as a secondary athletic pre-read reviewer forfirst-time, full-time students in collaboration with the Directorof Transfer Operations and Credit Evaluations.

  • Assisting in the research, development and implementation ofthe undergraduate student recruitment plan with the goal of growingtraditional undergraduate enrollment.

  • Helping create and uphold admissions standards that reflect thevalues and goals of Manhattan University.

  • Managing assigned recruitment territories and/or studentgroups, with approximately 75% of efforts focused on graduaterecruitment and 25% focused on undergraduate recruitment, includingoutreach, engagement, and follow-up strategies that supportenrollment goals.

  • Communicating effectively and courteously with others,including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.

  • By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a role model to students,whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisoryrole.

  • Demonstrated experience working cross culturally with respect,appreciation and humility.

  • Up to 75% travel commitment during peak recruitment months:September, October, March, and April.



  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements


  • A Bachelor's Degree or further education.

  • 3+ years of increasing responsibility in College Admissions,Sales, Customer Service, Retail or other customer-facing industriesand a demonstrated ability to produce results within the context ofa team environment.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills .

  • Strong self-motivation, initiative, goal setting skills, theability to set objectives and a desire to learn and grow.

  • Prior management experience is preferred but not required.

  • Ability to demonstrate leadership outside of a managementposition could also be considered.

  • Willingness to work cooperatively and constructively with awide variety of people and the ability to speak to changingdemographics in the country and its effect on the recruitment ofstudents.

  • The ability, willingness and availability to travel, includingby car and airplane.

  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • A desire to work with a diverse community of students andemployees who represent various cultures, backgrounds, andabilities.
