Job summary

Biogen is seeking an Associate Director to lead clinical development activities in Immunology, focusing on early-phase programs (I–II) for neuroimmunology indications. Based in the West Coast Hub, you will guide protocol design, trial execution, and data interpretation in collaboration with R&D teams.

You will contribute to development frameworks, monitor safety, and support interactions with health authorities while mentoring teams and driving patient-centered study design across collaborations

Qualifications

• MD/DO or PharmD with relevant experience required; neurology or neuroimmunology exposure preferred.
• 0–2+ years in biotech/pharma with academic or clinical research background.
• Medical monitoring or investigator/sub-investigator experience welcomed.
• Experience with cross-functional R&D collaboration and protocol execution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; deep neuroimmunology knowledge.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to advance early-phase development programs.
• Contribute to protocol design, development, and execution for early-phase neuroimmunology studies.
• Provide medical monitoring and oversight of clinical studies to ensure patient safety.
• Serve as a contact for CROs and investigators on protocol questions.
• Provide scientific therapeutic expertise to internal and external stakeholders.
• Support data interpretation and clinical reporting for early-phase studies.
• Assist health authority interactions and responses for regulatory questions.
• Contribute scientific content for protocols and development documents.
• Support risk mitigation strategies and safety management planning.
• Contribute to study documents such as protocols, amendments, and briefs.
• Incorporate patient-centered design by considering disease burden and feasibility.
