Job summary

Banner Health seeks an Associate Director to lead a high performing Progressive Care Unit team at Banner Thunderbird. The role combines clinical expertise with operational leadership to ensure high-quality, safe, and cost-effective patient care in a Level I trauma setting.

You will develop staffing models, manage budgets, lead quality initiatives, coach emerging leaders, and collaborate with physicians and staff to advance patient experience and clinical excellence across the unit.

Qualifications

• BSN or MSN required for all new hires; BSN for internal transfers/promotions within 6 months.
• Current RN license in state of practice with BLS certification.
• Two years of clinical management experience relevant to patient population.
• Alzheimer’s disease familiarity for LTC settings and related requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides managerial and clinical support to patients and staff.
• Leads unit operations to ensure smooth, safe, and cost-efficient care.
• Develops and evaluates quality and process improvement initiatives.
• Manages staff leadership development, coaching, and evaluations.
• Oversees recruitment, orientation, onboarding, and retention.
• Manages large units and collaborates with patients, staff, and physicians.
