Job summary

Colby College's Museum Communications team seeks a Communications Coordinator to support the execution of the Museum's communications and marketing strategy. You will coordinate content production, manage communications platforms, and ensure timely delivery across multiple channels, reporting to the Communications Manager.

This hour-based role collaborates across the Museum and College to promote exhibitions, programs, and institutional initiatives, handling operations, analytics, and staff

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Graphic Design, Art History, or related field.
  • Two years of professional experience supporting communications, marketing, public relations, or digital content management.
  • Demonstrated experience writing and editing content for multiple communications channels.
  • Experience coordinating projects with multiple stakeholders and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the Museum website, ensuring content is current and aligned with standards.
  • Coordinate website updates for exhibitions, public programs, collections, events, and initiatives.
  • Collaborate on CMS projects and enhancements; QA digital content.
  • Manage Bloomberg Connects guide and external profiles; submit events to calendars.
  • Develop, schedule, and publish social media content; monitor engagement.
  • Maintain email distribution lists and coordinate email campaigns.
  • Maintain communications calendars and project schedules across departments.
  • Coordinate production of marketing materials and liaise with vendors.
  • Support media relations; prepare press materials and coordinate interviews.
  • Supervise and mentor the summer communications intern; analyze metrics.
