Medical Science Liaison, Oncology (Gastrointestinal, Genitourinary, & Thoracic Focus) - Southern California
Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and maintain scientific expertise: Engage in continuous learning about the therapeutic areas (GI/GU/Thoracic oncology), attend scientific meetings, conduct literature searches, and communicate findings to peers, establishing trust and expertise.
  2. Build external relationships: Spend 70-80% of time developing relationships with healthcare professionals (SEs, educators, investigators) within a designated region, serving as Lilly's primary representative and connecting clients with internal resources.
  3. Gather and communicate insights: Collect feedback from external clients to inform Lilly's research and strategy, and respond promptly with relevant scientific information.
  4. Manage administrative activities: Utilize tools like Veeva, LillyNow, and Microsoft Office effectively, ensuring compliance with procedural and legal standards.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in health sciences (PharmD, MD, PhD) with 2-3 years relevant experience, or
  • Masters or bachelor's in health sciences (RN, RPh, PA, NP, etc.) with 5+ years clinical/medical information experience in oncology.
  • Valid driver's license and legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship expected).
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Oncology experience in GI/GU/Thoracic; clinical setting experience preferred.
  • Residence near Southern California with access to a major airport.
  • Ability to travel 50-70% overnight and work 4-6 weekends annually.
  • Strong scientific, communication, and interpersonal skills; experience in professional networking and field-based roles.
