Job Overview

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in Oncology (Gastrointestinal, Genitourinary, & Thoracic focus) will develop scientific expertise, foster relationships with healthcare professionals, and support Lilly's research and strategic goals in the specified therapeutic areas within Southern California. The role involves approximately 70-80% external engagement with healthcare professionals, providing in-depth scientific information, and liaising with internal teams.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain relationships with external clients, including healthcare professionals, educators, and investigators within the territory.
  2. Provide deep scientific knowledge about Lilly and competitor products, current issues in oncology, and facilitate scientific exchange.
  3. Gather feedback from external stakeholders to inform research and strategic direction.
  4. Maintain expertise in the therapeutic area through continuous education and scientific engagement.
  5. Manage administrative activities including documentation, compliance, and resource utilization.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in health sciences (PharmD, MD, PhD) with 2-3 years of relevant experience, or
  • Masters or Bachelor's in health sciences (RN, RPh, PA, NP, etc.) with 5+ years of oncology-related clinical or medical information experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience in GI/GU/Thoracic oncology and clinical settings.
  • Ability to travel 50-70% and work weekends as needed.
  • Strong scientific, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in professional networking, literature evaluation, and field-based environments.
Additional Information
