Job summary

Wellesley College invites an Associate Director/Advisor for Careers in Media and Technology to join its Career Education division. You will advise students and alumnae on media and technology pathways, helping them secure internships, mentors, and meaningful postgraduate opportunities while building strong partnerships with faculty, staff, employers, and alumnae.

The role emphasizes one-on-one and group advising, event design, and collaboration across campus to align programming with the liberal

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
• 3-5 years of industry experience in media/technology or higher education.
• Experience advising or mentoring college students in education/workplace settings.
• Knowledge of recruiting practices, industry trends in media/tech.
• Experience designing and delivering programs, events or webinars.
• Understanding of career development theories and coaching strategies.
• Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders including employers, students, alumnae, faculty, and campus partners.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person and virtual advising for students and graduates in media/technology fields.
• Maintain and share current information on recruiting practices, internships, and industry trends.
• Educate advisees on internship/job search strategies, networking, interviews, and salary negotiation.
• Collaborate with campus partners to plan and implement career programs and events.
• Design targeted programming with faculty and student organizations.
• Support cross-functional teams to steward relationships with employers and partners.
